Everett 6 Months Old

Everett turned 6 month old this month.

At his well check last week, he weighed 18 lbs, 13 oz, was 27.6 inches long, and had a head circumference of 42.8. He wears size 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers. He has started baby food!

So far, he has had Gerber Oatmeal with breastmilk, carrots blended up with breastmilk, Gerber brand Stage 1 green beans, mashed sweet potatoes, and Baby Mum-Mums. He took a little while to get used to the mum-mums, but now he loves them. He did not like the oatmeal at first, but after about a week, he started opening his mouth when he saw the spoon coming his way. He thought the carrots were okay. He did not like the green beans at all and would refuse to open his mouth. He liked the sweet potatoes! He's not a big eater just yet and still loves to nurse around the clock.

Everett enjoys tummy time in short doses. He rolls over and can pivot himself so that he can cross the room if given enough time (and always moves off of the blanket I put on the ground for him). He is quick to smile at everyone and has a great laugh. He has two bottom teeth and loves to chew on everything. He is starting to outgrow his bouncer and swing. He can sit assisted. He loves his toes and takes off all socks and shoes. His hair is growing in blonde, and his eyes are still light in color (they look either blue or green depending on what he's wearing that day).

Everett has gone to basketball games, birthday parties, play dates, a field trip to the fire station with Remington's class, and he went on a date with Mommy and Daddy to Red Lobster for their 11th wedding anniversary. He spent part of his first Spring Break on a road trip to Glen Rose, TX to visit Dinosaur Valley State Park and went in a pool for the first time in our hotel (the indoor pool at Hampton Inn, Cleburne, TX). He held onto Mommy and watched brothers swim and play. He had his first dentist visit on March 16th.

Everett's first tornado watch. We grabbed all of the kids out of their beds (Everett wasn't in bed yet) and holed up in the downstairs bathroom for half an hour until the danger had passed.

He is sitting up in his swing sometimes.

Everett's First 3 Months

Everett is already 3 months old. Where has the time gone?

It is just flying by, and each day is SO busy. Everett has gone to visit big brothers at school, he's gone on play dates, he's visited family out of town, he's gone to a wedding, he's gone to the beach, he's stayed in a hotel, and he's even attended his first concert - The Monkees!! (I don't know how he could ever top that!)

At 3 months old, Everett weighs about 15 lbs. He's wearing size 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. His hair is dark brown (and thinning), and his eyes are a light blue color. He hasn't gotten sick yet (thank you, God!), and he's a great eater. He still nurses quite often during the day (only going about 1-2 hours at the most between feedings) and cluster feeds at night. He sleeps 5-7 hours straight most nights!! (That started when he was about 2 months old - before then, it was up after only 2-4 hours.) He has been in his crib in his own room for almost 2 weeks now. He is starting to smile more and more, and he loves to be held. He likes to kick his legs. He loves laying in his little bath tub while big brothers are bathing and enjoys his own bath time when Daddy pours the warm water on him. He also likes laying in his little woodland friends bouncer and watching the animal toys sway on the toy bar. And his first tooth is already starting to grow in!

Southern has been so excited about Everett since he first learned I was pregnant. He couldn't wait for the baby to be born. So on Everett's first day of life when Southern asked if he could hold him, I told him "sure!".

Baylor refuses to nap during the day and will some times fall asleep on the car ride to school to pick up big brothers. When he naps that late, he stays up late. He and Everett are our night owls.
